Apple has lost me for the foreseeable future. Apple decided to upgrade their 2014 Developer Guidelines stating that they do not want “Amateur Hour” apps and only “Unique” apps that provide “Lasting Entertainment“.
How should novice developers enter into the Apple Store then? Apple’s app store was considered a digital disruptor by James McQuivey, a resource that empowers people. The Software Development Kit (SDK) Apple provided allowed people with limited resources to have an opportunity to learn how to code and enter a digital marketplace. This allowed these novice developers to sell and cultivate their newly acquired skills – some of this affected demographic being kids!
While Blackberry, Google, and Microsoft app stores may have a lot of amateur apps, at least they are still supporting new developers in their marketplaces.
